Southbourne, Bournemouth

Southbourne is a quiet, largely residential area with a lively cluster of brewpubs, cafes, and restaurants on Southbourne Grove. From here, the Fisherman’s Walk nature trail cuts through woodland to family-friendly and local’s favourite, Southbourne Beach. The coastline stretches east around Hengistbury Head, a stunning peninsula nature reserve.

  • Giovanni Dora is the owner/chef of Deli Rocks, born in London, to Italian parents from Parma, "the Capital of Food". Giovanni decided to combine his parents’ culinary background with his modern views on how a delicatessen ought to be: not sterile, but a vibrant environment. Somewhere everyone should feel welcome. Variable daily menu and excellent coffee.

  • Infused with traditions of bygone eras and through continuous researching into the greatest foods from around the U.K & Europe, The Larder House offers a unique dining experience. The Larder House is playful, accessible and carries a buzz in the air that is difficult to describe. What’s important though, is that it gives you the feeling you have stumbled upon something very special, almost secret. Check their website for the most up to date menu.

  • Hengistbury head has something to offer everyone. You can climb to the top and take in the breathtaking views across Christchurch Harbour whilst admiring the nature reserve all around you. On the other side of the head you will find Mudeford Spit, a delightful beach with it’s famous row of beach huts. You can then catch the land train from the spit back to the headland - always popular with adults and kids alike. Or, if you’re not ready to head back just yet, you can even get the ferry over to Mudeford for a spot of crabbing!
